Phlebotomy certification in Louisiana
Louisiana requires a phlebotomist certificate from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, but the law exempts phlebotomists who work for a physician, a clinic, a hospital, a nursing home or another licensed facility, or a certified laboratory that trains them. Many hospital and clinic phlebotomists therefore need no state certificate: ask the employer.
